Chapter 15

When he knocked on my door Monday night, I straightened my t-shirt, took a deep breath and opened it.

“Hello, Mae.”

“Hi, Liam. Thanks for coming by.” I had sent him a text just before I left the office, asking him to stop by my apartment.

I had spent the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday thinking about Liam’s offer. I had read and re-read the contract until I thought my eyeballs would start bleeding. Lying sleepless in my bed on Sunday night, I had made a mental list of pros and cons.

Pro – you want your boss. He’s offering you the chance to have him.

Con – you could lose your job.

Pro – you’ll be $50,000 richer.

Con – No actual sex with Liam.

Pro – I apparently had a much stronger urge to dominate than I had ever suspected, and Liam was giving me the opportunity to explore that.

Con – He’s my goddamn boss.

Pro – I’ll have my goddamn boss on his knees in front of me, ready and willing to do all sorts of delicious, naughty things to me.

Con – It’s only for a month.

I had weighed the options back and forth until I had finally gotten up and gone to the bathroom. I had stared at myself in the mirror and sighed deeply. I was going to do it. I had known that as soon as Liam had admitted he wanted me.

Now, I sat down on the small couch and shifted nervously when Liam joined me, his large bulk taking up most of the space.

“You were quiet today.” He gave me his own nervous smile.

“I had a lot on my mind.”

“Have you made a decision about my offer?”

I nodded. “Yes.”

He gave me an expectant look, and I took a deep breath and reached for the envelope on the coffee table. I handed it to him. “I’ll do it. I’ve signed the contract, and I’ve also provided you with a copy of my most recent blood tests.”

His hand gripped the envelope tightly and warmth flooded through me when he smiled widely at me. “Thank you, Mae.”

I nodded. “When uh, when do we start?”

“This weekend, if that works for you?” He said eagerly.

“It does.” I took another deep breath as he relaxed on the couch.

“There’s something else, Mae.”

“What?” I gave him a wary look.

“We need to talk about hard and soft limits.”

“Meaning what’s acceptable and what isn’t?”

‘Yes.” He gave me a curious look. “How much do you know about this lifestyle?”

I shrugged. “I know a bit.”

“Have you done this before?”

“No, not really. I mean, I’ve always been kind of bossy in bed…”

I trailed off, flushing a little and he smiled at me.

“I like bossy.”

“Obviously.” I said dryly.

He smiled again. “We can talk about our limits now, or I can give you my personal email address and you can think on it, and then we can email each other and discuss it Friday.”

“I’ll have to think on it for a bit but uh – could you give me some of your list now?”

“Sure.” He sat back and put his arm along the back of the couch.
